The Tuff Trek Mk3 Roof top tent comes from the hearts and minds of our UK tourers - developed by the Tuff Trek founders while  travelling from England to Morrocco, South Africa,  Ireland and all places in abetween, these tents take into account wild weather in these regions - Extreme Wind, Torrential  rain , oppressing heat and freezing temperatures.

The Tent itself is constructed in Aluminium, tig welded and finished in Hammertone for the toughest finish possible. Its a load bearing tent, built with solid roof cross rails, capable of carrying firewood, spare tyre, solar panels - you name it - it'll carry it.  That ability to carry dirty items without fear of damage is particularly handy in Wagons - where dirty storage is at a premium. 
 
Interior finish s complete with a Multitude of  canvas storage compartments - the best we've seen.  deep and sizey - usefull. 
Inside, Door zippers are overlaid with a second internal door skin, so that no cold wind or rain spray can penetrate zipper - that second lining over the doors really adds a nice warm and dry lining in dismal weather. While in Hot climates, HUGE upper mesh venting will help let hot air escape while bugs cannot get in. 
Flyscreens are Midge mesh all round, this can cause air flow issues, however oversized doors and that large oversized upper vent area will beat it as well as can be done. 
 
Outside, Spring steel poles have been designed to allow triangulation and opposing load forces to keep that large awning from movement, the 4 spring steel poles have also pushed the awning sides well out sideways, preventing rain ingress into open windows.  Probably the only clamshell that can compete with the skirt on bundutec bundtuop tents - 
 
Build quality is what you'll see. Its as fine as they come - with attention to detail present everywhere. This is an indestructible beauty of a tent. 
 
On the base, North south rails sit, 20mm hign (Refreshingly low) while all external fittings are cut to accept a standard M8 Bolt. Tuff Trek have taken the time to Pre Install Awning to Tent brackets on all sides of the tent, in AUD this will save you around $600 against the competition should you be wishing to install a pole less wing awning - Tuff Trek has also mounted solid Ladder mounts to ALL three sides of the tent, and included a nice ladder with wide treads - packs away small - 
 
opening and closing the tent is easy, with soft close Gas struts - they will allow tucking of canvas without re-opening or clamping down, and the pull down strap and handles are well built and not going to catch on anything. 
 
Mattress is a foam type 70mm, floor comes complete with Aeromesh insert (Another $200 inclusion standard) and wall materials are a ripstop 320 GSM canvas. Pre Seasoned and Treated against moisture. (As  per african spec). 
 
This is probably the tent to beat in 2023 - quality , features, inclusions and well thought out poor weather comfort will put this tent to No1 for Australian conditions this year.
